DIDWW Adds SMS Link Redundancy
Link redundancy is critical when providing high reliability communications, as even the most robust networks fail due to events such as natural disasters or accidental damage to links.
DIDWW's Trunk Groups provide full failover capabilities, allowing traffic to be automatically routed on alternative trunks if an active trunk fails. This failover trunk logic has been available for customers using our inbound voice services, and this important facility has now been added for our DIDs carrying SMS traffic.
SMS Trunk Groups are easily configured from the DIDWW User Panel, and trunks within a specified Trunk Group are allocated priorities that rank the order in which those trunks should be used. DIDWW also allows users to build custom re-routing rules based on response codes, that define the conditions under which a trunk is considered to be "in service".
